Our Client’s Challenge

The night is dark, the moon hidden behind a thicket of trees. In a nearby clearing, a large crowd waits, keen with anticipation, nervous with excitement. Suddenly, lights. And music. The evening air explodes into chords and beats, and the sound washes out over the now cheering, screaming, dancing throng. It’s the first night of Suwannee Hulaween 2025, and the legendary arts and music festival is already in top form.

Across multiple acres of beautiful Florida countryside, Suwannee Hulaween offers fans a feast for both body and mind. Artists of every description place sculptures, paintings, and other installations throughout the grounds. A gigantic “art wall” holds a stunning variety of works, inviting contemplation. Food and drink flow easily, sustaining fans through the packed days and nights. And, of course, the music. Dance, EDM, psychedelic, hip hop, rock… music of all stripes is as close as the nearest stage – and there are plenty of them.

Whether you come here for the out-of-this-world art, the get-you-out-of-your-seat music, or the lets-just-take-a-break-from-it-all vibe, Suwannee Hulaween has what you’re looking for. To maintain the security of the site, as well as to help ensure fans stay focused on the fun and frivolity, the festival’s organizers need temporary chain link perimeter fencing that is not only strong and durable, but also discreet and able to be quickly installed by a capable partner.

As an outdoor event, Hulaween and its organizers must work around a variety of natural obstacles. The site is heavily wooded, meaning fence installers must literally carve their way through the trees and undergrowth to access all corners of the grounds. Additionally, the fence experts must account for a wide range of substrates (sand, dirt, grass, etc.) when driving fence posts. Ongoing art installations also require conscientious, nimble work on the part of the fencing crews. Finally, shifting requirements and timetables are virtually a given with this kind of product, meaning Suwannee Hulaween needs a provider that can think and react quickly to changing conditions on the ground.

SOLUTION

To help Suwannee Hulaween put on a fantastic 2025 edition, WillScot provided all the festival’s temporary fencing and crowd control barriers. Teaming up with the festival’s site leader, Rob Cray, WillScot’s expert crews installed more 10,000 linear feet of perimeter fencing in just four days, along with 3,900 linear feet of barricades. A final-day change order for an additional 1,200 linear feet of fencing was turned around in less than 24 hours thanks to our integrated logistics.

Thanks to WillScot’s huge, up-to-date inventory, all the temporary chain link fencing panels were individually screened with new windscreens, giving the entire festival site a clean but discreet look. One of the key contributors to the project’s success was the adaptability of WillScot teams, who faced various natural obstacles and a wide range of substrates (sand, dirt, grass, etc.) when installing fence posts.

As the perimeter chain link fence was installed, a large section demanded special attention as it would become home of the festival’s “art wall.” To ensure the temporary chain link panels could support the wall, supporting pillars were post-driven deep into the substrate, then reinforced with special tie-downs and sandbags. As a result, the wall stood proud throughout the festival, delighting artists and fans alike.

CONCLUSION

Suwannee Hulaween 2025 was as big a success as the organizers expected, and then some. Tens of thousands of music-jamming, art-loving free spirits had a blast and found some escape from the humdrum, all protected and enclosed within a discreet temporary perimeter fence that did its job without ever taking away from the atmosphere.
